That Made the Idea Real

She always imagined turning that skill into work of her own, but the idea kept sitting somewhere between “one day” and “when I can.”

At the Women’s Center in Khan Younis, here began the change.

During the entrepreneurship course, Doaa started breaking the idea down into practical decisions: what she would need first, what she could begin with, and how much of the project was already within reach.

By the end of the course, one answer was obvious. She needed a sewing machine. She bought one.

That purchase changed the nature of the idea. Doaa was no longer only thinking about a sewing business or waiting for the right moment to begin. She now had the first piece of it sitting in front of her.

The machine gives her somewhere concrete to start. She can practice, improve her work, and gradually build around a skill she already trusts.

There is still plenty ahead of her, but the project is no longer on her waiting list.
