They just come to play. And in addition to education and meals, they also receive psychological care. And they have a chance to be in a safe place, play together, and forget the war and its images.

The Gaza Children Village (GCV) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization founded by Palestinian-American neurosurgeon Dr. David Hasan. Through its Academies of Hope, Children’s Specialty Hospital, University, and Women’s Center, GCV provides education, healthcare, workforce development, nutrition, and psychosocial support to children and families across Gaza.

Every GCV initiative is guided by a three-part mandate:
✓ Immediate Humanitarian Relief
✓ Rebuilding Gaza’s Essential Infrastructure
✓ Cultivating Pathways for Peace

Within its first year, GCV has built an effective and scalable model serving more than 21,000 K–12 students across fourteen Academies of Hope in central and southern Gaza. The organization employs more than 400 local educators, administrators, physicians, nurses, counselors, and support staff, creating sustainable systems of care led by the communities they serve.

Education That Builds Peace

The Academies of Hope follow a revised curriculum based on the Palestinian Authority educational framework while replacing harmful or inflammatory content with lessons centered on dignity, coexistence, emotional intelligence, and shared humanity.

Children attend the same academy each day, supported by consistent teachers, caregivers, and familiar routines. Education is integrated with nutritious meals, healthcare, and psychosocial support, ensuring that children can learn in an environment where their basic needs are met and they feel safe.

Families remain active partners throughout the program, reinforcing stability beyond the classroom and strengthening the communities the Academies serve.
