Children’s Specialty Hospital

In coordination with international partners, the Board of Peace, and with principal approval from COGAT, Gaza Children Village (GCV) is preparing to transfer a fully constructed mobile hospital from Jordan to Khan Younis, Gaza.

The GCV Children’s Specialty Hospital will become Gaza’s first dedicated tertiary pediatric teaching hospital, addressing the critical shortage of advanced pediatric healthcare, complex surgical services, and specialized medical training. Beyond delivering lifesaving care, the hospital is designed to strengthen Gaza’s long-term healthcare capacity by training the next generation of pediatric physicians, surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Once operational, the hospital is expected to perform more than 4,200 moderate-to-complex pediatric surgeries annually and provide lifesaving care for more than 50,000 children each year. By expanding access to advanced treatment within Gaza, the hospital will substantially reduce the need for costly and logistically complex medical evacuations for critically ill children.

Medical teams from leading international pediatric institutions will rotate into Gaza to perform surgeries while providing hands-on training for local healthcare professionals. This work will be complemented by telemedicine consultations and virtual education provided in collaboration with leading Israeli hospitals, helping build a sustainable, locally led pediatric healthcare system for the future.

The hospital is designed to function not only as a place of treatment, but as a cornerstone of a broader, self sustaining health ecosystem for children and families across Gaza.
