For too long, children in Gaza have faced life threatening delays in care simply because specialized pediatric services were unavailable locally. The Children’s Specialty Hospital was created to change that reality by establishing Gaza’s first dedicated pediatric referral and teaching hospital, ensuring that children can receive advanced care without leaving their community.
The hospital is designed to function not only as a place of treatment, but as a cornerstone of a broader, self sustaining health ecosystem for children and families across Gaza.
Summary
The GCV Children’s Specialty Hospital will become the first dedicated tertiary pediatric teaching hospital in Gaza. The hospital is designed to address the severe shortage of advanced pediatric healthcare services and complex surgical care while laying the foundation for a modern, sustainable healthcare system through medical training and specialization.
Operating in coordination with local health authorities and international partners, the hospital will serve as a regional referral center while also strengthening Gaza’s long term pediatric healthcare capacity.
Medical teams from leading international pediatric institutions will rotate into Gaza to perform surgeries and provide in-person training, including:
– Boston Children’s Hospital
– The Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto)
– Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)
– Children’s Health Ireland
– Additional leading American, German, Dutch and Pakistani pediatric hospitals
These partnerships ensure care is delivered to international pediatric standards while remaining locally led.

Alongside the Academies of Hope and Women’s Centers, it forms a critical pillar of a self sustaining ecosystem that brings education, healthcare, and stability together, ensuring children and families are supported not only today, but for years to come.
