Women’s Center

Women’s Center

In times of crisis, women often carry the responsibility of holding families together while having the least access to support. The Women’s Center of Hope was created to provide women with a consistent place to access care, skills, and stability, not as a one time intervention, but as part of daily life.

Summary

Across Gaza, displaced women are holding families together without privacy or stable income. Many are widows, single mothers, or caregivers to the 8,500 orphaned and war injured children served through our Academies of Hope. The Women’s Centers for Hope create safe, women led spaces located beside each academy, forming a Family Campus where mothers can step from school drop off into support, dignity, and opportunity.

Each center is built around three integrated zones: a Privacy Zone with access to showers, hygiene supplies, and safe private space; a Community Zone for peer support and mentoring; and an Empowerment and Learning Zone offering vocational workshops and structured training. All formal training is delivered in partnership with Challenge to Change, a regional leader in women’s empowerment that has supported over 45,000 women across the Middle East. Through its Gaza based trainer network, women receive instruction in digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership to build long term economic independence.

Women access the center regularly, building relationships with staff and other participants over time. Services may include health support, counselling, vocational training, and community based programs that respond to real daily needs.

The centers are closely linked with the Academies of Hope, ensuring that support for women and children is coordinated rather than siloed.

Our Mission

The mission of the Women’s Center of Hope is to strengthen families by supporting women with consistent care, opportunity, and dignity. By investing in women as central pillars of family life, we help create more stable environments for children and communities to thrive.

Working with women on the ground today inspires me; their ‘can-do’ spirit in challenging times gives me hope and fuels my commitment to be part of an amazing group that seeks to create a better future for all.
Rina Noar, Leader of the Women’s Center

As Gaza Children’s Village expands, the Women’s Centers of Hope play a critical role in building a self sustaining ecosystem of care. By supporting women alongside children, these centers help ensure that stability extends beyond classrooms and into homes and communities for the long term.
